Cottage Rules
Welcome to Kasper the Friendly Host Vacation Rentals! We’re so excited to host you for your family vacation. In order to enjoy the cottage and Grand Bend to its fullest potential, we’ve outlined some rules to ensure your trip goes smoothly.
Communication

Guests
- 8 Adults Max - Grand Bend Bylaw
- Adults must be 25 years of age or older to rent the cottage. IDs are required to confirm this
- Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at least 25 years of age or older
Check In
- Passcode for door: Will be provided to you the week you check in
- To check in, tap the code box above the lock. Two numbers will light up, press those two numbers for the number key to appear. Once the number key appears, please enter your code to access the cottage
- Time: 4:00pm, code won't be available before then
- Passcode deactivates at 10:00am day of check out
Parking
- There is room for up to 4 cars at the front of the cottage. Street Parking is not available, but there are paid parking lots nearby.
Security Deposit
- $500 per stay
- The deposit is kept until inspection is completed
- If there is no excessive mess or damage, it will be completely returned

Noise
- Grand Bend Bylaw - no noise after 11:00pm
- The neighbours that live there during the summer are accustomed to quiet in the evenings. If the police are called, the fine will be deducted from security deposits
Cottage Rules
- This Cottage is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. No parties.
- Guests must be at least 25 years of age, or accompanied by an adult. Not renting to students.
- No Pets
- No Smoking
- No FireWorks allowed as per By-law 16-2008
- The outdoor fire pit is only allowed from 7:00pm until 11:00pm as per the City By-law. You must keep noise down out of respect for the neighbours. The fire pit must stay in the location you find it as it takes into account By-laws. Failure to follow the By-laws and/or complaints made to the fire department as a result of your usage of the fire pit could require you to extinguish the fire and pay a fine to the City. You are liable for any damage to property or injury to person resulting from said fire as per Municipal By-law 26-2014
- Campfires are not permitted on the beach.
- Must climb 8 steps to get access to the main floor of the property
- Dishes must be done prior to departure. There are dishwasher pods under the sink
- Linens and bath towels are included but you are responsible for bringing beach towels. Do NOT use bath towels at the beach
- Please take off your shoes and don't bring sand and dirt into the property.
- Always keep doors closed and/or use screen doors at the patio. Given that the cottage is surrounded by beautiful nature, we want to ensure that no unwanted animals or bugs enter the premises.
- To ensure that you have an enjoyable stay and do not run into any issues, DO NOT flush anything other than toilet paper into the toilets. No Feminine products or "flushable wipes" to be flushed. Do not allow food or any oils/grease to go down the drains
- If there is damage to the property, you may be charged up-to $500 from the security deposit
Garbage Day
- If you are staying at the cottage during the week, please put the garbage and recycling bins out on Monday night. They will be collected on Tuesdays. Once they have been collected, please bring them to the side of the house where you found them
- Please empty all the garbage bins before you leave the cottage
- If there is any garbage or recycling that does not fit into the outdoor bin, you are responsible for disposing of it
- Fines from the security deposit may be incurred if there is garbage left in the cottage
Check Out
- Check Out 10:00am sharp
- Late fees may apply if you check out after 10:00am, as we need to set up the cottage for the next guest
- In order to check out - please return the cottage to the way you found it
- All used linens must be stripped off the bed and gathered in a pile in each bedroom
- Please leave the comforter folded on the bed
- Please also leave the pillow on the bed
- All garbage must be removed from the cottage
- You may put any garbage/recycling in the bins outside
- If you are there during the week, please put the bins out on Monday night and return them to the side of the house Tuesday after pick up
- Please leave all used towels in a pile in the washroom
- All dishes must be washed and put away
- If there are dishes in the dishwasher, please turn it on before you leave
Hot Tub
- Before each use, ensure there are enough chlorine tabs in the floater in the pool. Additional chlorine tabs can be found in the stairs of the hot tub
- Do not remove the floater in the hot tub
- Temperature: Max 102, min 98
- No Noise after 11:00pm; Jets should be turned off, no music is to be played after this time, and we ask if voices be kept to a minimum volume.
- ALCOHOL AND HOT TUBS DO NOT MIX. The heat of the tub and the alcohol combined can cause dehydration and possible heat exhaustion. If you feel light headed, dizzy, nausea, rapid heartbeat, faint, fatigue, headache, or extreme sweating, get out of the hot tub immediately
- Guests MUST shower before using the hot tub, to ensure the removal of moisturizers, perfumes that will affect the clarity of the water and chemical balances. Guests should also shower after using the hot tub.
- Do not run around hot tub/wet areas to avoid slips and falls
- DO NOT USE GLASS in the hot tub. Plastic glasses are provided for hot tub use. If a glass is broken in the tub then IMMEDIATELY vacate the tub then turn the jets off. Please report this to staff so that it can be dealt with as soon as possible.
- DO NOT GET SAND IN THE HOT TUB. If you’re coming from the beach, please rinse off before getting in the hot tub. If the hot tub needs to be drained to remove the sand, an additional fine will be incurred.
- AT NO POINT MUST ANYONE WALK OR LAY ON THE HOT TUB COVER.
- DO NOT USE THE HOT TUB IF YOU HAVE SKIN, EAR, GENITAL OR OTHER BODY INFECTIONS, OPEN SORES OR WOUNDS. AT NO POINT SHOULD THE HOT TUB BE USED IF YOU SUFFER FROM THE ABOVE.
- DO NOT USE THE HOT TUB CONTINUOUSLY FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS AT A TIME. Recommended guidelines suggest that you should use a hot tub for 15 to 30 minutes at a time with a maximum of 45 minutes at any one time.
- DO NOT EAT FOOD OR SMOKE IN THE TUB.
- DO NOT IMMERSE YOUR HEAD UNDERWATER.
- DO NOT PUT ANY WEIGHT ON THE PLASTIC LID AS IT MAY DAMAGE OR BREAK THE LID.
- DO NOT USE THE HOT TUB IN HIGH WINDS THIS WILL DAMAGE THE LID AND BE A SAFETY HAZARD.
- NO children under the age of 7 may use the hot tub.
- DO NOT leave children unattended in or near the tub even when the lid is closed.
- DO NOT use the tub if you are unwell, have low or high blood pressure, are pregnant, sensitive to chlorine or have any open wounds. If you have any doubts ask your doctor before booking.
- You use the hot tub at your own risk.
- We cannot be held responsible for your safety while you are using the hot tub.
Fines for Failing to follow the Rules:
- Empty and clean and refill hot tub : $100.00 CAD
- Damages will be charged at cost plus labour at $20.00 CAD per hour.
- If we have following guests that cancel due to the hot tub not being available as a result of damages caused by miss-use, then their total booking cost will have to be covered including any of the above fines
